FAQ
Is 20 minutes really enough time to photograph my unpredictable kids?
Absolutely! I have a million tricks for getting little ones to play along. We’ll start having fun right away and will be done so quickly that they won’t have time to get cranky. That said, be sure to book a time slot that works with your kids’ eating and napping schedules. Things go way more smoothly when everyone is fed, rested, and hydrated (myself included)!
What happens if I’m running late?
Mini sessions are scheduled back to back with only a small amount of buffer time between, so I ask that you please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early. That said, life happens, so if you’re unable to get to your session on time, your session fee is transferable to another open time slot. Your new time will depend on what’s available and may not be on the same day.
What should I wear?
Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident. Whether that means dressing to the nines or going more casual is entirely up to you, however, remember that you’ll likely be sitting on the ground at some point and dress accordingly.
Families who want to look cohesive should think about choosing a coordinated look of color, pattern and texture (rather than a uniform). You can also choose one or two patterned items, then select additional clothing items from within that pattern for the rest of the family. Another way to think about it is to imagine the rooms in which you’re most likely to display your family photos from the session and draw inspiration from those colors.
Can I bring my pet?
Because our time is limited during a mini-session and pets can be unpredictable, pets are not included in mini sessions. If you’d like to include a furry friend in your family photos, I’d recommend booking a full session, which will give us plenty of extra time for sitting, staying, rolling over, and handing out treats to good doggies.
Can I bring my sister/cousin/grandma/pizza delivery guy?
Definitely! The session fee includes one immediate family - parents and kids, or up to 6 family members total. Additional family members are $25 per person. Alternately, If you’d like to do a big group photo with your extended family, let me know and we can book back-to-back sessions to accommodate you, that way you each get your own time slot for family photos, plus photos of all of you together!
What happens if it rains?
The rain dates for this year are October 20th & Nov 2nd in Dighton. If it rains during your mini session day and you are unable to attend the rain date, your session fee is transferable to either a future mini session date, or can be applied to a full family session within one year of your scheduled mini session.
How long are my photos available online?
Your gallery will be online until the end of December 2024, which should give you plenty of time to choose your favorites, order prints and gifts, and download your files. After the end of the year, your gallery will be archived and no longer accessible, unless otherwise arranged. Mini session clients will receive a special code for 25% off of all online print purchases good through the end of 2024!
What if I love my photos so much that I want them all?
Good question! Mini sessions come with digital download of your 5 favorite photos, but chances are, you’ll love them all so much that you won’t want to choose! Additional files are available to purchase for $25 each, or the full gallery of images is available to purchase for $150.
Ok, I’m in. How do I book?
Once you’ve selected your spot, you’ll receive an invoice and contract. Full payment and a signed contract are required in order to hold your spot. Pay & sign online, and you’ll receive a confirmation email securing your date. Easy peasy!
